A Cedar Rapids man was charged with driving while under the influence of alchohol on Sunday.
On Sunday, May 27, at approximately, 2:10 a.m., Henry County deputies observed a black pickup swerving in the southbound lane of traffic in the 2500 grid of S. Grand Ave.
After a traffic stop, at the intersection of S. Grand Ave. and E. Linden Dr., Mark Lewis of Cedar Rapids was identified as the driver. Upon further investigation it was determined Lewis was under the influence of an alchoholic beverage and was taken into custody. He was charged and arrested for operating while under the influence, first offense, a serious misdemeanor.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
