BURLINGTON ? From June 14-17 Burlington Steamboat Days will return with popular mainstay events for the 2018 festival. Organizers will again hold family fest, senior day, special guest day, the Steamboat Days parade and the talent show. New events include the market and praise fest.
The Burlington Steamboat Days talent show will take place Wednesday, June 13, from 4-6 p.m. in the Memorial Auditorium.
As a sanctioned event, the winning individual or group for each division will have the opportunity to compete at the Bill Riley Talent Search Competition at the Iowa State Fair in August. Youth can compete in two age divisions, Sprouts (2-12 years), or Seniors (13-21 years) and as individual or group performers.

Senior Day is scheduled for Thursday, June 14, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Started by longtime Burlington Steamboat Days board member Betty Morlan, this event will feature entertainment by the SCC vocal music department and the SCC artist in residence program.
An admission fee applies and includes lunch, games and entertainment. Visitors get in free with a multiday wristband.
Steamboat Days is happy to welcome the return of special guest day. Sweethearts will provide face painting and a selfie station to pair with karaoke and dancing, with lunch provided by Mann?s McDonald?s. Sterling Food Company and the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois also will provide treats.
This event is for special needs individuals and one guest. Seats are limited and registration is required. Registration forms are available at www.steamboatdays.com and due to the BSD office by June 1.
The annual Steamboat Days Parade will take place on Saturday, June 16, at 10 a.m. This fan favorite features marching bands, floats and plenty of excitement.

Family Fest will take place on Saturday, June 16. from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the BSD grounds and in the Memorial Auditorium.
The event is designed just for kids. Attractions and activities include inflatables, karaoke, Fun Factory magic shows, baby crawl, Burlington fire department smokehouse, face painting, crazy hair booth, Burlington Police Department bicycle safety course, Gunny the clown, a bubble gum blowing contest and more.
New this year, Steamboat Days will host the market, an outdoor vendor blender and flea market. It will take place on Saturday, June 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot south of the Memorial Auditorium. Vendors will be on hand to sell products. Vendors are wanted. Another new event is the Burlington Steamboat Days praise fest. The event will be held on Sunday, June 17, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the landing on Jefferson Street.
Local praise bands and community speakers will be on hand to entertain and inspire. At 3:30 p.m., the event moves inside the grounds to the IHMVCU stage for two exciting shows. First are regional Christian artists ?Captives Set Free? followed by Christian pop-rock artist and Dove Award winner, Jordan Feliz.
