The Burlington Municipal Band has a busy week planned. An invitation to perform in the Iowa Municipal Band Festival in Boone was accepted and the Band will be presenting a concert in Boone?s Herman Park Pavilion on Saturday, July 14, at 1 p.m. Forty-seven members of the band will be making the trip to Boone thanks to transportation provided by Burlington Trailways. Eight municipal bands from around Iowa will be performing for this 26th annual event.
On Sunday, July 15, the band will be presenting its weekly concert in Crapo Park and is happy to also, for the fifth consecutive year, present the Nauvoo Pageant Bagpipe Band. The Bagpipe band will perform alone at the band shell from 6:45-7:15 p.m. At 7:30 the Burlington Band will begin and be joined by the bagpipes for the first three selections.
The conductor will be Ron Coberley and the same program will be presented both days. The free event is open to the public.

-Danza Allegre, featuring Derrick Murphy as a trumpet soloist
