Burlington man arrested after hit-and-run

A Burlington man was arrested and three vehicles damaged Oct. 26 in a hit-and-run accident at the intersection of Main and Henry streets in Mt. Pleasant.

Monte Moehn was arrested after being located and charged with leaving the scene of an accident, driving under suspension, unsafe backing and no valid insurance.

According to the accident report, Moehn was operating a 2002 Chevrolet westbound on Henry Street when his vehicle struck a 2011 Chevrolet, driven by Barbara Fountain of Mt. Pleasant. Fountain was stopped at the intersection of Henry and Main streets.

After striking the Fountain vehicle, the Moehn vehicle backed up and struck a 2007 Chevrolet, driven by Sheri Bresnahan of Mt. Pleasant. The Moehn vehicle then left the scene of the accident.

Police later located Moehn at 103 S. Marion St., Lot 14 in Mt. Pleasant where he was placed under arrest.

Total damage to all three vehicles was estimated at $2,000.
