The Mt. Pleasant Police Department is investigating a bank robber that occurred at U.S. Bank Friday afternoon.
At approximately 11:45 a.m., Friday, Sept. 14, the Mt. Pleasant Police Department responded to the report of a bank robbery at the U.S. Bank, located at 301 E. Washington St.
The unknown individual, which was initially identified on the scanner as a Hispanic male, approximately 5'2" took an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene. The individual was seen driving north in a white Dodge Ram pickup truck.
No weapon was displayed during the incident, according to a press release.
Mt. Pleasant schools were placed on a lock-down following the incident.
Officers are investigating the incident and ask that anyone with tips or information contact the Mt. Pleasant Police Department at 319-385-1450.
U.S. Bank has been closed at this time and customers are being directed to the U.S. Bank in Burlington, located at 808 S. Roosevelt Ave.
