EUREKA, Ill. ? It was a record breaking day for Iowa Wesleyan freshman Grace Alongi on Tuesday.
The freshman forward scored seven goals in a 12-0 route of Eureka College, breaking the single-season scoring record at IW with her 16th goal this season.
The record was previously held by Erin Lucido, who scored 15 goals in 2011.
Alongi scored the first three goals of the game, netting goals in the first, 10th and 28th minutes to give the Tigers a 3-0 lead.
Courtney Mitchell added one in the 37th minute, and Alongi put in two more before the halftime buzzer, as the Tigers held a commanding 6-0 lead at halftime.
Just over eight minutes into the second half, McKenzie Copher put in her first goal of the game for IW. Alongi and Taniya Harris each scored one over the course of 1:10 later in the half and it was 9-0 in the 67th minute.
Alongi put in the record-breaker in the 7-th minute to bring the Tigers to 10 goals. Ashley Machholz and Ahlia Tai each found the back of the net before the second half was over and the Tigers finished off a dominant 12-0 win.

Caitlyn Welch led the Tigers in assists, with three. Mitchell and Julie Dodd had two assists apiece, and Machholz finished with one.
