A driver and two passengers were injured after the driver fell asleep or blacked out at the wheel on Highway 218 Saturday, July 28, around 6:30 a.m.
Austin Beadles, 21, of Buckingham, was driving southbound on Highway 218 when he either blacked out or fell asleep. His 2003 Chevy TrailBlazer drifted to the east of the roadway before Beadles overcorrected. He crossed back over to the southbound lanes and entered the west ditch, where he struck a tree and came to a rest.
Beadles was transported to HCHC by ambulance.
Passenger Bradley Dundee, 29, of Buckingham, was injured and taken to HCHC by ambulance.
Passenger Ashley Noelle Beadles, 49, of Waterloo was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics by MedForce.
