Kenneth Nehring, 78, New London, died January 6, at University of Iowa Hospitals. He was born November 8, 1940 to Donald and Roena Nehring. In 1961, he married Sharon Angstead; she died November 3, 2009. A 1959 graduate of New London High School; he was tight-end on the 58-59 undefeated football team. He was of Methodist faith. He retired after 45 years at IAAP; consulted for 2 years and driver for Shottenkirk. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #28 AF &AM; enjoyed antique cars, Indy 500, car shows, time with kids and grandkids, and a Packers fan. Survivors include sons, Jeffrey and Jason, New London; daughters, Kimberly Wagner, New London, Kathryn Miller, Burlington and Karin Cadwallader , Vichy, MO; 12 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brother Curt , Mt. Pleasant; nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by infant son; infant daughter, and a nephew. The service will be 11:00 Friday at Elliott Chapel; burial at Burge Cemetery. Visitation begins at noon Thursday; family present from 5 7.
